Navalur is the southern end of Chennai's OMR apartment belt, between Sholinganallur and the SIPCOT IT park at Siruseri. It grew almost entirely in the past fifteen years, so most homes are in large gated communities with clubhouses, pools and their own shops. The Kelambakkam junction and the road to Kovalam and ECR are minutes away, and Chengalpattu district administers the area.
Getting around
- OMR: buses to Sholinganallur, Thoraipakkam, Tidel Park and Adyar; the Siruseri IT park is a short ride south.
- Kelambakkam road: leads west to Vandalur and GST Road, and east to Kovalam and ECR.
- Metro: a Chennai Metro Phase 2 corridor along OMR is under construction; check the current status before buying on that basis.
- Airport: about 45 to 60 minutes via Kelambakkam and Vandalur.
